Comprehensive DICOM tag de-personalisation / anonymization policies are centrally implemented and distributed using the administration interface. DICOM tags are modified and private data is anonymized before the study leaves the remote site. Any number of DICOM tags can be modified, including custom tags.
The content of DICOM tags can be modified in the following ways:
- Blank. Content of the tag is removed.
- Manual. The content of the tag is replaced with a value entered by a user at the remote site.
- Fixed. The value entered into the tag is set by the administrator.
- From eForm. This powerful feature allows for values in the eForm, such as the remote site name, or a text field, to be placed into the tag.
DICOM tag editing can be combined with MedStamp’s workflow features. This allows, for example, for the original studies to be sent to one location while a de-personalised copy is sent for long term storage in a PACS.
Setting up and distributing a de-personalisation policy
De-personalisation policies are simple to create..
It is straightforward to apply a different policy to each tag.
Once the policy has been created it is distributed through the administration interface. Policies can be distributed to a specific site, alternatively the same policy can be remotely applied to groups of MedStamp account holders.
The remote site enters a new value into a DICOM tag
A remote site is prompted to enter a value into the patient ID tag. This replaces the existing content before the study is sent.
A confirmation is given to the remote site that a de-personalisation template has been applied.
